Small Groups

Small Group Vision Statement
At FMC Goldthwaite, we envision a church where every member is actively engaged in a small group, fostering a community that supports, nurtures, and grows together. We believe that small groups are vital for holistic care, encompassing mind, body, and soul, enabling us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind as Jesus commanded in Matthew 22:37. Our vision is to create an environment where each individual feels valued, connected, and empowered to live out their faith in every aspect of life.

Small Group Mission Statement
Our mission is to cultivate a network of small groups within FMC Goldthwaite that serve as safe havens for spiritual growth, mutual care, and genuine fellowship. Guided by Hebrews 10:24-25, we commit to encouraging one another and spurring each other on toward love and good deeds. In our small groups, we aim to:

  1. Mind: Equip members with biblical knowledge and wisdom (Colossians 1:9-10) through regular study and discussion, fostering a deeper understanding of God's Word.
  2. Body: Promote physical well-being and practical support, ensuring that each member's physical needs are met (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) through acts of service and care.
  3. Soul: Nurture spiritual growth and emotional well-being (3 John 1:2) by creating a space for honest sharing, prayer, and encouragement.
By actively participating in small groups, we strive to embody the unity and love described in Acts 2:42-47, reflecting God's kingdom on earth and empowering each member to live out the greatest commandment: to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
